Regulation
Application
Fulfill the application form on the website;
Upload your CV, Portfolio, and a little presentation (text or video) of you and your work;
Submit your proposal for the artistic residency program (text or video);
Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have.
Selection process
Candidates from all over the world are welcome to apply;
Artemis Gallery team will select applications based on the submitted materials;
The 10 selected candidates will be notified via email. The Artemis Gallery team will assist and answer any questions that you might have between the beginning of the residency and the arrival in Lisbon.
Funding
The artistic residency has a cost of 1.300€, which includes all taxes, use of equipment, formation, curatorial and research support, and work documentation during the residency;
First deposit: after the decision, the artist will be asked to deposit 500€ to hold his/her place in the program before it starts. This deposit will not be refundable in case of cancellation;
Second deposit: 800€ one week before the residency program starts;
If you fail to pay the second time, SALT will consider your application nullified and will invite another artist;
The candidates can make a total payment at once if it’s more convenient.
Cancellation and Refunding:
We can talk about rescheduling the residency if you warn us no later than one one week before the start of the residency program;
In case someone already made the total transfer and had the plans changed, we can refund the second deposit;
Refunds are made within two weeks after receiving the cancellation;
The refunds can only be returned to the account they were paid from.
Workplace
The entire residence is developed at the following address: Rua Pinheiro Chagas, nº69, 1ºEsq., 1050-176 Lisboa
Insurance
The selected artist takes out insurance that protects him/her from personal accidents and work tools while in residence.
Workspace
The artist is responsible for the good maintenance and care of the workspace;
Any damages may have an implied cost to the artist;
The artist should close the door at the end of each work session;
Each artist will have a key to access the workspace. Loss or damage to this key may imply a cost.
Artworks Removal
At the end of each residency, the artist should remove the artworks. Otherwise, the right to remove them is reserved to the organization.
The organization reserves the right to remove any offensive or discriminatory work with three days' notice.
Damage or Theft
The organization is not responsible for any damage or theft of personal objects during residency.
Validity
The Artistic Residence contract starts on the first day of Residency and ends as soon as the program finishes. Any changes must be communicated 15 days in advance.
Final notes:
The undertaking of a residency is a commitment, with financial and other responsibilities related to the community of artists, facilities, and operations;
The SALT team will not measure efforts to develop the program or support the artists. We’ll be available before the residency period starts to answer any questions and prepare the arrivals;
An agreement between the artist in residency and SALT will be signed, and a copy of that agreement can be requested in advance;
The artistic residency will not provide the artists with flights, meals, or trips;
Omissive Cases
The cases not covered by this regulation are analyzed and answered by SALT.
